As the weather heats up, kids begin asking when they can go to the local pool.
Outdoor pools in Casey and Cardinia are only open at certain times of the year – so it pays to check when the children can make a splash.
Forecast temperatures often dictate when an outdoor pool will open and how long for.
In Cardinia, all pools will open every day in January regardless of the temperature.
Here, we list the opening dates and times for outdoor swimming pools in the municipalities.
CARDINIA

KOOWEERUP SWIMMING POOL
Cochrane Park Reserve, Rossiter Road
There are two pools. The main 33-metre main pool is heated to 29C, while the 12-metre program pool is heated to 31C.

CASEY
DOVETON POOL IN THE PARK
Corner of Tristania St and Kidds RdA large facility featuring a heated 50metre outdoor pool, splash park, two learners’ pools, small waterslide and giant waterslide.
Open (weather permitting) from December 1 to March 31.
If the forecast temperature is 30°C or higher, the centre will be open. Follow the pool’s Facebook page for updates.
Entry: $6.10 for adults, $5 for a child or senior, or $19.80 for a family.The City of Casey is also home to two large indoor aquatic facilities – Casey ARC and Casey RACE which are open all year round.
