Local residents are helping bring Christmas joy to disadvantaged kids this year by donating
gifts to the Parklea Gift Drive.
Parklea, the South East’s most prominent developer is running the initiative in conjunction
with Windermere Child and Family Services and The 4C’s, who will deliver the gifts to
children throughout the Casey and Cardinia Shire area. Each year Windermere and The 4C’s
assist thousands of people in the local community with food, housing, jobs, counselling and
more.
For most children, Christmas is a time of fun and excitement as they enjoy holiday time with
family and friends and eagerly await presents from Santa. Alternatively, for families doing it
tough, Christmas can be a difficult reminder of financial and family problems.
You can help by placing gifts for boys and girls ages 0-16 years under the trees located at
Arena Shopping Centre and the Timbertop Estate Sales Suite. Donations close 7th December
2016.
Last year’s appeal had a wonderful response with piles of gifts large and small donated by
locals including an Xbox console. Maree De George of Windermere thanked residents for ‘a
wonderful contribution by all, which will bring some Christmas joy to children and families in
our community that would otherwise miss out.’ Parklea is anticipating an even bigger
response this year with the addition of a tree at Arena Shopping Centre.
Help Parklea, Windermere and The 4C’s make a difference and put a smile on a child’s face
this Christmas.
