    • Nintendo Switch consoles and book vouchers are among the prizes up for grabs in Transdev’s Bus Safety Competition.

Budding artists in Years 5-8 are invited to enter by creating a poster promoting safe bus travel.

The bus safety poster competition runs between 17 August – 25 September.

It aims to promote safe behaviour among school students when travelling on buses.

Transdev Melbourne managing director Loretta Lynch said safety was the company’s number one priority.

“Every day we help school students across Melbourne get to and from school safely on one of our more than 120 school bus services,” she said.

“This competition helps students learn about safe behaviours when travelling in and around buses, in a fun way which challenges their creativity.

“We hope the competition will also be a fun activity to keep kids entertained during COVID-19.”

Alongside regular safety messages, such as keeping aisles clear or holding on to avoid
slips and falls, students can also design a poster about safe travelling behaviours which
help slow the spread of COVID-19.

Prizes include Nintendo Switch consoles and vouchers for books, arts and craft,
      stationery.

Prizes will be awarded in two categories – for primary students enrolled in Years 5 and 6 and secondary students enrolled in Years 7 and 8.

A special prize called the “Journey Makers’ Choice Award” chosen by popular vote of Transdev Melbourne staff will also be awarded in each category.

Winners will be announced in October.
