Everyone is familiar with Puffing Billy’s iconic Belgrave Station, but did you know that you can also start your journey from the historic and picturesque Lakeside Station?

Perfect for families with young children and those wanting to beat the crowds, passengers can enjoy a unique Puffing Billy experience exploring this lesser known part of the railway.

The journey from Lakeside to Gembrook will take you over four historic timber rail bridges as it the train winds its way through the unspoilt Wright State Forest. As it climbs towards Gembrook, the line side bush gives way to extensive views of rolling farmlands and distant mountain ranges.

You’ll have plenty of time in Gembrook to explore the quaint town, grab a bite to eat, visit the lolly shop, or play in the park located next to the station. Passengers can also visit Emerald Lake Park (at Lakeside Station) before or after their train journey for a picnic, BBQ, play on the playground or in the wading pool, or even hire a paddle boat.

Belgrave departures are also available every day of the Easter school holidays.
