Parents who plan on sending their child to a kinder in Cardinia next year are being urged to send in their applications.
Research shows kindergarten sets up children for success at school and helps develop their language skills, problem solving abilities and self-confidence.
The state government partially funds kinder programs for 15 hours per week, for children who are 4 years old on or before 30 April in the year they attend.
Cardinia Shire Council’s Jenny Scicluna said kindergarten applications could be made on council’s online registration system, which provided an easy, step-by-step process.
“We understand kindergarten is a important step for families so we’ve worked hard to simplify the application process as much as possible,” she said.
“Parents can easily prepare and submit applications online through the kindergarten portal at kindergarten.cardinia.vic.gov.au.”
The website also provides important information about kinder programs, including key dates.
Applications for first round offers at Cardinia kinders must be received by close of business on Friday 29 June.
First round offers will be emailed to parents from Monday 9 July 2018. Any applications received after 29 June will be processed in later rounds and throughout the year as places become available or as required.
Pre-kindergarten programs are also available at centres across Cardinia. Council’s central enrolment service will email first round offers for 2018 pre-kindergarten placements from Monday 6 August 2018.
