Budding artists will find plenty of inspiration and help to hone their skills at Bunjil Place this school holidays.
After a visit to the Archibald Prize, they can spend time exploring their own creativity at the Young Archie Making Hub.
The free activity will run 10am to 6pm Saturday to Wednesday, and 10am to 9pm Thursday and Friday, from 3 September to 14 October.
Abstract portrait workshops at 10.30am and 1.30pm on Tuesdays 20 and 27 September invite children aged 7 and up to create portraits limited only by their imaginations and what they can do with cardboard.
All materials will be provided. Tickets are $15 per child.
Kids aged 7 and up can create a three-dimensional hanging portrait at workshops on Wednesdays 21 and 28 September at 10.30am and 1.30pm. Tickets are $15.
Clay pot workshops on Thursdays 22 and 29 September invite kids aged 7-plus to make a figurative pot with air dry clay.
An artist educator will guide participants through the process – no experience is required.
The workshops will run at 10.30am and 1.30pm, and cost $15.
In the hands of Junkyard Beats, ordinary household items are transformed into extraordinary musical instruments, and unwanted junk comes alive in exciting and surprising ways.
The Box Show will hit the stage at 6pm on Friday 23 September, designed to excite kids aged 5-plus and adults alike.
Tickets are $18 each, or $16 each for groups of four or more.
Following on, The Box Show Workshop at 10.30am on Saturday 24 September invites children aged 5-plus and adults to band together and create their own Junkyard Orchestra.
